Rent a house in Barra de Valizas

Rent a house in Barra de Valizas: a beautiful and unique fishing village on the coast of Rocha in Uruguay. Our houses Mali and Burundi are 300 metres walking distance from the sea. Our house Las Acacias is 100 metres from the sea, you can hear the sea in the bedroom!

All our three houses are well equipped, clean and have a huge garden. Go to the section houses to obtain more details of each house.

This unique village, with a high 'relaxing atmosphere' offers multiple ways to relax or undertake activities:

  • Climb the sand dunes and race from there with a snowboard
  • Do some surf at the sea. Our neigbours can offer you some surf lessons.
  • Take a walk through the dunes to magic Cabo Polonio and spot a sea lion or a whale
  • Enjoy an evening Candombe or live music in one of the nice bars in this town
  • Explore by boat the Parque de Ombues with its beautiful nature
  • Undertake a cabalgates tour by horseback, through the dunes and the beautiful surroundings
  • Stroll at night through the village and buy beautiful handmade jewelery or other handmade products
  • Enjoy a delicious savory snack in the pizzeria or eat an evening snack of tasty meat
  • Prepare your own meal with your freshly caught fish
  • Go for a nice day of sea fishing or watch the local fishermen's catch of the day come in

Why Valizas?

Valizas has several supermarkets during the high season (December to March) which are opened on Sundays as well. The local baker bakes delicious, fresh sweet and savory breads and pastries. There are Internet cafes, a library, a medical center and a small tourist information center where they sell the best, home made ice creams you can imagine. Made with local ingredients and fruits from the season. Try the sambayon, chocolate, mburucaya or pitangas de silvestre!

Despite these basic supplies are amply present and you can benefit from plenty of sun, sea, beach and the most beautiful tourist sites, the mass tourism is clearly not present yet.
